Dear Fellow Members and Friends of Rotary,
Please allow me on behalf of our education committee to share some good news!

Dictionaries have been ordered and will soon be distributed in-person to all third graders in thirteen schools in our three school districts!  Our long-standing and well received educational project will return to meet with third graders and their teachers which was briefly interrupted by Covid-9 protocols.

Thomas Kinslow will join Roz Shaw in developing presentations that will include readings from “Dewey-Does” and special comments on the resources available in our dictionaries.  Their committee is looking for members and friends of Rotary who will volunteer and participate in the programs at each school.

Please contact Roz who is working on the schedules if you wish to be a part of this remarkable program this year. She will offer dates for when the third graders will assemble, and the dictionaries will be distributed at each school.

As you are probably aware our district grants no longer apply to this annual dictionary initiative of ours.
Therefore, it is also vital to the success of the program that we continue to fundraise and receive generous donations from members and friends each year.

Our club is appealing for your support and donations of $250 to cover the cost of $4,230 for the dictionaries. To members who have already offered to donate, please confirm your pledge by sending your check or use the website to transmit payment (via pay pal- noting “dictionary project”).

To others still considering support of this wonderful project, please let me know if you wish to donate $250 or more, and you would like to serve as a school sponsor with your name.

To all, on behalf of the Club Board, I wish to express my enthusiastic appreciation and thanks!

Stephen
